Juve-linked Toney: Staying in Saudi gives me best chance of England call-up

Ivan Toney believes staying in the Saudi Pro League will give him the best chance of an England call-up for this summer's World Cup despite reported interest from Juventus

The Al Ahli star, who is top scorer in the Saudi top-flight with 18 goals, is one of the strikers being linked with a move to Juventus before tomorrow's deadline.

However, in an interview with the Mirror's Darren Lewis, the striker says he is already in the best place to convince Thomas Tuchel he is deserving of a spot on the plane to North America.

I feel like Im doing well right now and that continuing to score goals [here in Saudi] will give me a stronger chance to get to what could be my only World Cup," he said.

Harry Kane is the best finisher in football, his numbers are outrageous. I think hes scored more goals than games hes played.

For me, it's not easy to score goals in this league, is its not easy. Its tough. Being in, being a team that Im in, it gives me a chance.

We have some good players that enjoy assisting, lets say, and thankfully for them, they have a striker that loves scoring and wants more.

Forest exploring a deal for Gosens

Latest from Your Site News' Anton Toloui:

Nottingham Forest are exploring a potential Deadline Day move for Fiorentina full-back Robin Gosens.

Forest boss Sean Dyche said after today's 1-1 draw with Palace that he wants to sign a left-back.

Oleksandr Zinchenko was recalled by parent club Arsenal from his loan at Forest to complete a permanent transfer to Ajax.

Forest want to sign a left-back and a central midfielder before the deadline. Both of those are positions that Zinchenko plays in.

Gosens has been a regular for Fiorentina this season and played 70 minutes in yesterday's defeat to Napoli in Serie A.

Onyeka set for Coventry

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas:

Frank Onyeka has agreed to sign for Coventry City, pending a medical.

The Nigeria midfielder will join them on an initial loan from Brentford until the end of the season.

That loan will become an obligation if they are promoted to the Premier League. Coventry are currently top of the Championship on goal-difference only.

Strand Larsen deal progressing despite Mateta concern

Latest from Your Site News' James Savundra:

Crystal Palace still expect Jorgen Strand Larsen's transfer from Wolves to go through as things stand.

They have not heard of any issues around Mateta's move to AC Milan.

Strand Larsen is currently having his Palace medical and the club do not foresee any issues with the striker passing those checks.

As things stand, the deal is progressing as planned despite Milan waiting until Deadline Day to make a decision on signing Mateta in this window.

Palace have agreed to pay a fixed fee of 43m for Strand Larsen  plus 5m in potential add-ons.

Wrexham sign Vyner in 1.5m deal

Wrexham have completed a deal for Bristol City centre-back Zak Vyner.

Its understood the clubs have agreed a 1.5m deal for the 28-year-old, who was due to be out of contract in the summer.

Wrexham tried to sign the Kenya international, 28, last summer, but Bristol City rejected two bids - the second worth 2m.

On signing, Vyner said: Im over the moon. I think Wrexhams ambition and the project that is already well underway the back-to-back-to-back promotions is something you cant help but admire from afar and now Im involved I cant wait to help out.

I know a few of the lads, I know what the squad is and how good it is, and for me now it is about showing some leadership, helping out with my attributes and what Ive learned in the last ten years and helping an already good squad be better.

Celtic in the market for defender on Deadline Day

Latest from Your Site News' Anthony Joseph:

Celtic are still looking to bring in a centre-back before tomorrows transfer deadline.

The club have been working on a number targets in the past few weeks, but have been unsuccessful in their search so far.

If Celtic can make a breakthrough with a centre-back option, it could pave the way for Stephen Welsh to rejoin Motherwell.

The Hoops recalled Welsh from his loan at Well earlier this month.

Atletico say Lookman set for medical

Atletico Madrid say they have an agreement with Atalanta for the transfer of Ademola Lookman

The forward is already in Madrid to undergo a medical, the Spanish club add.

His move is subject to passing those medical checks and finalising personal terms.

Milan to make a decision on Mateta deal on Deadline Day

Latest from Sky in Italy's Gianluca Di Marzio:

AC Milan will make a decision over whether to sign Jean-Philippe Mateta from Crystal Palace on Deadline Day.

Milan are sending a club doctor to examine Mateta before proceeding with the deal.

There are also question marks over whether Milan will push ahead with the move in this window considering the fact that Christopher Nkunku does not want to leave.

Nkunku was signed by Milan from Chelsea for 36m last summer. He does not want to move to Roma or Fenerbahce as it stands.

Palace have not heard of any issues with Mateta's transfer to AC Milan, Your Site News understands.

It remains to be seen what knock on effect this could have on Jorgen Strand Larsen's transfer to Palace if Mateta's deal does not go through before the deadline.

Norwich sign Toure for 3m

Norwich City have signed Mohamed Toure from Randers FC for 3m.

Its understood the Championship club will pay an initial 2.6m fee, with 400,000 worth of add-ons.

The Australia international, 21, is travelling to England today to undergo a medical.

On joining the club, Tour said: "Ive known the club for a very long time and Im excited to get started. Im here to learn and develop, and Ive heard that Philippe Clement has had a big influence on the players and has brought out the best in them.

Its an environment I want to be in and I want to improve under him. I love to work hard - every time I'm on the pitch, I try my best for the badge.

Fulham set for Deadline Day chase for Pepi

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas, James Cole & Dharmesh Sheth:

Fulham are hopeful they can strike a Deadline Day deal with PSV Eindhoven for the signing of striker Ricardo Pepi.

Talks have resumed between the clubs. Fulham had made a bid of 28m for the USA international. PSV are understood to want at least 30m.

There appears to be a willingness from all parties to get a deal done.

Pepi wants to join and is thought to be impressed by Fulham's persistence - they tried to sign Pepi last January and had a bid worth 21m rejected.

Pepi's contract at PSV runs until 2030.
