'No doubt in my mind' | Howe says he is the right man to lead Newcastle

Poch: I believe I will win the Premier League - but I don't know with which club!

Mauricio Pochettino speaking on The High Performance Podcast:

"Yes (I believe I will win the Premier League).

"It's really important. If you don't believe, if you don't have belief, that hunger and passion and fight, it's difficult to achieve.

"The Champions League is amazing because it's a dream, too, like the World Cup.

"But we really love English football; football was born here. We were so lucky to spend a lot of time at Wembley, which is an icon for us. It's an amazing stadium.

"We are going to try. Unfortunately, in which club, I don't know!

"Now, we are in our best moment as a coaching staff because we are still young, we have energy.

"I think I can be better because you can improve, but today I think we have the capacity and the knowledge, the balance to provide to any single club good things."

Watford set to appoint Will Still's brother Edward

Latest from Your Site News' Mark McAdam, Anthony Joseph and Chris Siddall:

Watford are set to appoint Edward Still as their new head coach.

The 35-year-old is at the Watford training ground this morning to finalise terms on his contract.

Still s the brother of former Southampton boss Will.

He has been assistant manager of Lens and Anderlecht.

Valery leaves Sheff Wed on loan

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed Yan Valery has left the club on loan.

The 26-year-old - who played 23 times for the Owls this season - will spend the rest of the campaign with Swiss side Young Boys.

Poch: Winning the Europa League was not enough for a club like Tottenham

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says the club need to be challenging for the Premier League and Champions League again - and last season's Europa League triumph was "good, but not enough".

Speaking on The High Performance Podcast, the 53-year-old - who is head coach of the USA men's national team - said: "It's true Tottenham is a club that needs to think about winning the Premier League and the Champions League.

"The facilities are Champions League and, in the past, we didn't have that. The fans today appreciate we were challenging for Premier League and Champions League.

"To win a Europa League is good because when you celebrate a trophy, that is good. But it's not enough.

"It's not enough for a club like Tottenham. It's not enough to challenge for the Carabao Cup, the FA Cup, the Europa League or the Conference League.

"The fans, what they expect is to be in the Champions League, fighting, believing you can win the Champions League and also fighting for the Premier League and believing you can win the Premier League."

Neville: Wins WON'T force Man United to appoint Carrick now

Jacquet suffers serious shoulder injury after agreeing Liverpool move

Liverpools new summer signing Jeremy Jacquet has sustained a serious shoulder injury, according to Rennes head coach Habib Beye.

The 20-year-old fell awkwardly in the second half of a 3-1 defeat to Lens in Ligue 1 and appeared in agony as he left the pitch.

For Jeremy, its his shoulder, Beye said in his post-match interview.

Well have time to see, but its definitely quite serious.

Liverpool saw off competition from Chelsea to agree a 60m deal to sign the highly rated France Under-21 centre-back on July 1 on a five-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months.

Liverpool have agreed to pay a fixed fee of 55m plus a potential 5m in performance-related add-ons.

Very pleasing, of course, was Reds head coach Arne Slots verdict on the deal.

Hes a very big talent and maybe even more than a talent, but we speak about talent because of his age.

We werent the only one interested in him. Its another big compliment to the people working really hard to sign players because we were able to sign such a big talent.

Fernandes: Carrick showing he can be a great manager

Bruno Fernandes has claimed Michael Carrick is showing he can be a great manager after guiding Manchester United to another win.

United have now won four wins from four in the Premier League since taking over the interim reigns, and Fernandes admitted he told Carrick in his first caretaker spell in 2021 that he had potential.

"I think Michael came in with the right ideas of giving the players the responsibility," Fernandes told TNT Sports. "He's very good with the words.

"I think he still remembers what I told him the last time he was our manager for our last game. I was sure that Michael could be a great manager, and he's just showing it."
